A Family Reunion, new shows and much more...

RAW held it's "season premiere" last night with a mix of all 3 of the WWE brands and I thought it presented a very intriguing storyline with the 3 champions that will no doubt lead to a tag match at Survivor Series. I SO hope that DX buries Edge and Orton b/c I really couldn't give a damn about those two guys to begin with.

Since I am now working for an ABC affiliate I've had the chance to catch some of their standard fare. I hate to admit it because it's such a girl show, but I am now hooked on Grey's Anatomy. I will actually give credit to Meg for this one because I never would've even heard of the show had it not been for her. I have yet to catch Desperate Housewives. The jury is still out on this one, but as of right now I'm leaning towards no. The same goes for Lost. Everybody seems to think that this is the best show since sliced bread. I beg to differ, that honor goes to 24. Lost is on tomorrow night so if I'm not around to watch I'll at least DVR it and watch it later. Also, in attempt to rip off 24, ABC announced that they will air the last 15 or so episodes in a row. No matter what though, NONE of these shows hold a candle to 24. PERIOD.

Alabama plays Ole Miss this Saturday and I will be in attendance. The Tide is looking to win two in a row to head in to Tennessee week 5-2. I'm hoping the running game can get on track and hopefully put a decent amount points on the board because Lord knows we'll need the offense clicking when we head to Knoxville next week. Coach Shula announced today that Marc Guillon has left the team and that will make Jimmy Barnes the new backup quarterback.

Jack gets "Shanghaied."

Well, the 24 season finale has come and gone and was the fastest two hours of television I've ever watched. From Henderson getting plugged in the first half hour to Logan digging his own political grave it was a superb finale. I had this thought in the back of my head all season wondering why the Chinese haven't reared their heads. Had they not heard Jack was still alive? Had they forgotten? Obviously neither were the case as Jack was taken by the Chinese Ambassador and is on a freighter bound for China by the name of "Shanghai" which was doubly appropriate. So, what does season 6 have in store? We know Heller is still alive...will he arrange a rescue mission for Jack? Will Curtis lead that mission? Will Jack escape a Chinese prison and proceed to kick a billion Chinese asses? January can't get here soon enough.

I'll be back later with RAW thoughts.

24 Finale TONIGHT!!!

Yes, the season finale of 24 begins in approximately 10 min. and the anticipation is building. Who will die? Who will live?

From all the reviews I've read it seems Judgment Day turned out to be a good PPV. I was SHOCKED when I saw Rey retained the title and almost equally shocked when I read that the Undertaker was pretty much squashed. I glad to see that Benoit and Finlay got 20 min to put on a good wrestling match. All indications seem to be that was the match of the night. I could've swore Rey would lose the belt last night. But I still think he loses it in the next month or so. Apparently he has some injuries that need work and will require some time off. So, I think he drops the belt on Smackdown here in the next couple of weeks

2006 SEC CHAMPIONS!!!

Yes, I know it's been six months....

congratulations to Head Coach Jim Wells and the Alabama Baseball Team on winning their 14th SEC Championship! Tommy Hunter pitched a complete game and set a new school record for most wins by a freshman pitcher(9). Let's go on to Hoover and bring home an 8th SEC Tournament Championship! ROLL TIDE!!!

Tomorrow night is the two hour season finale of 24. If anything less than President Logan getting an ass-whipping from Jack happens tomorrow night it'll be a bitter disappointment. They already pissed me off when they killed Tony, don't ruin the finale. I have no clue what will happen tomorrow night and as far as I can tell it seems from just watching it seems as if the only characters coming back next year are Jack, Chloe, Curtis, Audrey and maybe Buchanan and Mike Novick. Looking to be a spectacular season finale.

What about RAW? It seems like they're building towards towards two things right now....A DX reunion and the return of ECW. Now, if they can manage to get out of their own way this will be best months of WWE TV in a LONG time. I'm looking forward to what they have planned for the summer months. BTW, if RVD does not beat John Cena at One Night Stand they better have the NYPD riot squad on standby because it could get ugly and fast. I would much rather see Van Dam beat JBL at ONS because Smackdown! is sorely lacking in main event face talent. Benoit will never see the top again because creative is retarded. Kurt Angle is wrestling on borrowed time. Rey Mysterio is injured and is just not believable as a top guy. The Undertaker is only there half the time and Batista is proving to be snakebit with injury. So, in my opinion, it would make sense if RVD challenges JBL after JBL beats Rey tonight for the title.

I won't see Judgment Day tonight, so I'll post my uneducated opinion based on posted results sometime tomorrow.

Wow...two in a row.

Well, RAW was a mixed bag last night. Looks like they're going in the direction of turning Shleton Benjamin heel and a feud with Shawn Michaels. Looks my post from 6 months ago may or may not come to fruition. Benjamin's career will probably depend on this single feud. If he brings the house down with HBK he'll be a huge star. If not, he'll be mid-carder forever. He won't exactly be main eventing by the end of the year, but this imminent feud with HBK will have him on the cusp. I've had high hopes for Shelton since he beat HHH and my hopes have been fading since he lost the IC title, but if this feud with HBK is anything like their match on RAW a few months back, we might be looking at a series a **** + matches and I'm not complaining about that one bit. Bischoff get fired yada, yada, yada and he'll probably be back in a couple of months just like everyone else gets fired.

Bama's in the Cotton Bowl vs. Texas Tech and personally I can't be more excited. It's a New Year's Day Bowl and it's one of the bowls with steep tradition. ROLL TIDE!!!

I'm really a slacker...

So, since I've posted last I've gotten a job with Discovery, moved to the DC area, Bama went 9-2 and beat Tennessee and overall life is pretty good right now. DC is pretty cool...it's cold up here though. It snowed the most I've ever seen it before...and living in Alabama for 27 years that's a lot. I want to update this more frequently so stay tuned. Later I'll be back and run down RAW from Monday Night and talk some Bama Football.

Yeah... I'm a slacker.

Well, it's been two weeks since my last post and not a lot has happened between now and then. 24 had an absolutely incredible season finale and RAW has been floundering the last couple of weeks. Hopefully, things will come around with the drafty lottery starting on Monday night. DCI also gets cranked up later this month and I hope to make at least one show this summer. If I do go to one it'll probably be the Pascagoula show even though the lineup this year is rather lackluster. I'll be posting the top 8 corps from last year and what they'll be performing this summer and give thoughts on each corps. I'm looking for big things out of the Cadets and SCV(my personal favorites) this year.

It's also the time of year that college athletics begin to wind down. The Alabama Baseball team is playing in the New Orleans regional this weekend and the Bama Softball team is playing the Women's CWS. Good luck and ROLL TIDE!!!

I bought a High Definition TV last weekend and it is well worth the money. Do yourself a favor and get one of these.

I need to update more often...

Yeah I know, it's been nearly 2 weeks since I've posted. I've been busy with work and I went out of town for a few days to recharge my batteries and hopefully I'll start posting more frequently, maybe everyday.

RAW sucked this week. They went through on the Lita turn. Can't say I was surprised, but I was definitely disappointed they actually did it. I can't help but feel that Vince is working us big time.

24 was awesome as always. Marwan managed to escape and Tony managed to get captured. If they kill Tony then no major character on that show is safe. Huge two hour finale on Monday and then I'll suffer withdrawals all through summer and possibly winter if FOX does the whole "non-stop season" againa next year.

Back tomorrow...

Review and Analysis for RAW and 24...

As good as RAW was last week it was just as bad last night. I was sooooooo looking forward to Benoit/Michaels next week, but instead I get Edge vs. Kane. Bleh. I can see the Lita turn coming a mile away to join up with her real-life man just as the ultimate F-U to Matt Hardy. Strange how it turns out like that, huh? Right. I did call the Hassan/Benjamin thing or what? If Hassan doesn't get the title at Vengeance it'll probably be SummerSlam, which is a shame on so many levels as Hassan couldn't carry Shelton's jock. That's a fact. I'm really doing backflips over the Trips/Batista feud. I mean come on, how long is this thing going to go? I'm this hoping it ends at Vengeance in Hell In A Cell, because this is just brutal. What can I say about Christian? This guy has just been off the charts this last month. Popular opinion is that he goes to SmackDown in the lottery and challenges John Cena for the WWE Championship. I won't argue with that. I say that they even take a gamble and put the belt on Christian maybe at SummerSlam or Survivor Series at the latest. If they do it at Survivor Series that'll have transition champion written all over it or maybe he'll actually go over at WrestleMania. That's still nearly a year away, so there's no telling what could happen.

24...

Wow, Wow and Wow. They are really going full steam ahead with these last 5 episodes. They catch Marwan, but the missile launches and Jack is now wanted by the Chinese government. It doesn't get any better than that. I like how Jack threw Audrey's "has anything you done today been right?" back at her. Yeah, if not for Jack your dad and your ungrateful rear end would be dead. Geez, the nerve of some people. Well, by the looks of the preview Heller's son had a hand in it after all. We'll see to what extent next week.

24 tonight and the Gold Rush continues...

We're coming down the home stretch with only 3 more episodes left in the fourth season of 24 as Jack is hot on the heels of Habib Marwan who is managing to stay a step ahead of Jack and CTU. Jack and Audrey are having major problems after Jack ordrerd a CTU doctor to divert his attention from performing surgery on Paul to a Chinese national who knows where Marwan is located. This ultimately leads to Paul's death and tirade from Audrey directed at Jack. Is it just me or is Audrey becoming a real handle lately? I mean, she knew about Jack's past and now she's acting all shocked as if she can't believe he's acting this way. Also, this "me me me" attitude she took when Paul died just made want to throw-up. Supposedly, she has the country's best interests at heart, but when it comes down to actually helping get ahead of the terrorists she folds like a cheap suit. I think Paul was somehow involved anyway but we'll see. The last two weeks have been great television and we will see if that holds up tonight. I'll have a review and analysis tomorrow or Wednesday.

Onto RAW....

The Gold Rush tournament to determine a new No. 1 contender for the World Heavyweight Championship continues tonight as Edge takes on Shawn Michaels and Chris Benoit faces Kane. If Shelton Benjamin is not in the main event picture by the end of the year something is terribly wrong. We might be looking at 1/2 of the Wrestlemania 22 main event in Benjamin. He'll probably end up dropping the IC belt to Hassan in couple of months and probably kill his heat that's been building since Wrestlemania. There will probably be more hijinks with Triple H and Batista as well. So far Batista is flopping as champion and it's of no fault of his own. They're not allowing him to get over like he should and his crowd reaction is diminishing. If it were me I'd put the belt back on Benoit as he's more over and is obviously more talented. If him and HBK feuded over the title all summer you wouldn't get any complaints from me that's for sure. I'll have a review and analysis of RAW coming up tomorrow.

Opening Post...

Well...This is my opening post on my brand new blog and I 'm really looking forward to it. I'll try to post everyday with some thoughts about what's going on in the world. Mostly sports and TV, which is really what makes up my life right now. Sad, ain't it? I'll also be posting analysis on a message board I frequent called "The Quad" which is part of Tider Insider. You can find a link to it on this page. Well, it's almost time for Family Guy so I'll return later!
